Dental Implants

A dental implant fills the space of a missing tooth restoring function and your smile. With 3D imaging and implant planning software, we can capture a 3D image of your mouth and jaw. The software combined with the 3D image helps ensure accurate placement of the implant for your specific anatomy. Then a 3D guide can be milled in office that fits onto the adjacent teeth with the exact location mapped for the implant placement taking out any guesswork during the procedure. Dr. Baxter traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to improve and fine tune his implant placement for his clientele at Kahului Dental.

Dental Implants
Missing a tooth can affect more than just your smile—it can impact how you eat, speak, and feel about yourself. At Kahului Dental, we restore smiles with dental implants, the most natural and long-lasting way to replace missing teeth.
🌟 What Is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a small titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. Once placed in the jawbone, it fuses naturally with the bone and supports a custom crown, bridge, or denture. The result looks, feels, and functions just like a natural tooth.
🦷 Why Choose Dental Implants?
Permanent, stable solution for missing teeth
Look and feel like natural teeth
Prevent bone loss and protect facial structure
Allow you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence
No need to alter or “shave down” neighboring teeth (unlike bridges)
👩‍⚕️ The Implant Process
Consultation & Exam – We evaluate your oral health and bone structure with X-rays or 3D imaging.
Implant Placement – The titanium post is placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia.
Healing Period – The bone naturally fuses with the implant (a process called osseointegration).
Restoration – A custom crown, bridge, or denture is securely attached to the implant.
👨‍👩‍👧 Who Is a Candidate for Implants?
Most healthy adults with missing teeth are candidates. You may be a good fit if you:
Have healthy gums
Have enough bone density to support an implant (or can receive bone grafting)
Do not smoke heavily
Are committed to good oral hygiene
📅 Caring for Your Implant
Dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care. Brush, floss, and maintain regular dental visits—just like you would with natural teeth.
